Photocopy of a memoir by Howard Ruppel about his World War II experiences as a paratrooper with Co. F, 517th Parachute Combat Team in the European theater. Also included are transcripts of letters written by Ruppel and his brothers, Jerome and Arthur, who were members of combat engineer units in Europe, to their aunt, Viola Messner Boldt, at home in Milwaukee, Wis. The memoir is vividly written, and it and the letters follow the men's military service from induction and training periods, through combat and field experiences, through discharge.
